Program Information

Academic programming is diverse and vibrant at our Center. Each term, an array of courses are offered at Duke, which focus on Latin America and the Caribbean to some degree. While no degrees in Latin American and Caribbean Studies are offered, undergraduate and graduate students interested in documenting their expertise and coursework focused on the region have the opportunity to earn certificates. The Center also brings in a variety of artists, intellectuals, musicians, and entrepreneurs to share their experiences with the Duke community each year. In addition to these programs, at least two major academic conferences are supported each year: the annual Consortium conference and the Latin American Labor History conference. The Center invites a Mellon Visiting Professor from Latin America or the Caribbean to teach at Duke each Spring and supports DukeEngage programs in the region each summer.
